The Industry-Institute Partnership Cell (IIPC) in collaboration with the Department of Emerging Technologies organized an Expert Lecture on the topic “Engineering the Career — AI Skills that Matter More than the Degree” by Mr. K. Vijay, Associate Director, Virtusa, Hyderabad, on 22nd October 2025 for the V and VII Semester students as part of the IIPC activities.

Mr. K. Vijay delivered an insightful session highlighting the growing importance of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Cloud Computing, and Natural Language Processing (NLP) in shaping future-ready engineers. He emphasized the significance of continuous learning, practical exposure, and skill development over traditional academic credentials to meet the dynamic demands of the industry.

The event was graced by Dr. G. ChandraMohan Reddy, Principal, MGIT, who motivated students to explore cutting-edge technologies and align their learning with the evolving AI ecosystem. Dr. M. Rama Bai, Head of the Department of Emerging Technologies, briefed the audience on the increasing relevance of AI and Quantum Computing in modern engineering education.

The session concluded with Dr. P. Chandra Sekhar, Convenor, IIPC, summarizing the key takeaways and extending heartfelt thanks to the resource person for his valuable insights.
